Gongcheng Elementary School Introduction

A chronological overview of Gongcheng Elementary School, from its founding in 1960 to its recent campus development, educational programs, awards, and leadership transitions.

Founding and Early Campus Development

  1. Gongcheng Elementary School was approved for establishment, with Zhenbei Village temporarily designated as its school district.
  2. The first principal, Wang Chin-chuan, officially assumed office.
  3. Classes were temporarily held at Zhendong Elementary School.
  4. Eight classrooms in the new campus buildings were completed and put into use.
  5. Wang Chuan-wang, Wang Chuan-tsai, and Chang Tsun-lien purchased and donated 1.28 jia of school land.
  6. Huxi Village and Neighborhoods 5 to 14 of Sanping Village were assigned to the school district. Zhenxi Elementary School transferred 9 classes, 627 students, and 10 teachers to Gongcheng. Some students temporarily used five classrooms at Zhenxi Elementary School.

  2. The Gongcheng Elementary School Alumni Association was established, with alumnus Chen Ching-liang serving as the first president.
  3. The library space renovation on the first floor of Heping Building was completed.
  4. Structural repair and reinforcement projects for Zhongxiao Building, Yuying Building, and Xinyi Building were completed.
